The Mob Is Real

This past weekend, we had friends, Teena (where there is music, there’s Teena) Blackey, from Midnight Mob (Long Island band) and Barry, from Audio Impulse (Philly band) visiting and jamming with us at our Club Cafe show. Special Reserve and All But Violet played killer sets. We got the idea before the weekend to learn the Midnight Mob song, “Swing On”, and have Blackey sing it with us. This was such a cool experience because usually when we cover any songs, it’s by a band that’s well known and this time, it felt so authentic to bring the Mob to our stage. Especially because they are such an awesome band. Not only did Blackey kill it, but we ended up capturing an awesome recording of it. At one point, we had everyone on the stage jamming at the end of the night. It’s moments like these that make our bands so close. The guys from Special Reserve, I’ve known most of my life and grew up jamming with. All But Violet is a band from Ohio that crazy enough, I found on the internet and really liked their songs. Half of ABV couldn’t even make the show so the guitarist and drummer showed up like champs and rocked. None of us could believe they were pulling such an awesome sound off on stage with only two guys. Big Atlantic is so excited to get out on the road with all of these music junkies.
